For a lot of people, the holiday season is not complete without peanut brittle. If you’re looking to try out something new, this recipe replaces peanuts with walnuts and adds cinnamon for extra flavor and spice.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Talia’s Walnuts, chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Grease a baking sheet with butter and set aside.
- Combine sugar and corn system together in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 3 minutes, uncovered. Stir and then microwave for an additional 2 1/2 minutes.
- Stir in the walnuts, butter, and cinnamon. Microwave again for 2 minutes or until the mixture turns into a light amber color.
- Add in the baking soda and vanilla extract. Stir well until the mixture is light and foamy.
- Pour the mixture into the greased baking sheet. Spread out the mixture with a spatula.
- Let cool completely then break into pieces.
